Espacio Khungi, Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Our Sanctuary in the hills.

Khungi is a true spiritual sanctuary — inspired by the ancient wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism and Mesoamerican plant-medicine and shamanic traditions. The land and the buildings on it were created with care: every door, window, and table is of original design, crafted on the premises with local lumber, while Tibetan Rinpoches and master elders of multiple medicine lineages oversaw the architectural and construction process — guiding every step with prayer, intention, and permission.

Fifteen en suite cabins — each with its own bathroom and king-size bed — open onto the hills. The grounds hold a geodesic dome ceremony room, a cozy library anchored by an impressive stone fireplace, a generous dining hall, and a traditional temazcal sweat lodge. Natural pools wait for an afternoon swim. Infinite stars wait for the evening.

The weather is kind — sunny and warm by day, temperate and cool at night — and the land itself is a working work of art. Original masterpieces sit in every corner of the sanctuary, threaded through a sculpture garden by world-renowned visionary artist Renato Dorfman. In every sense, an exceptional place to do deep spiritual work.

Words of love.

I came in as a stranger and left feeling like I'd found a chapter of my own family I didn't know I had. The work was deep. The aftercare was deeper.

The ceremonial container at Khungi is the safest I've ever sat in, and I've sat in many. You can feel the years that have gone into building it.

Solstice · 2023

What I didn't expect was how much the tribe itself became the medicine. Six months later we're still in weekly contact. That doesn't happen by accident.
